🎄🎁 Service Project – YoungLives Gift Donations 2025 🎁🎄

For the past several holiday seasons, this has been Austin Cosmopolitan Rotary Club’s holiday service project. We’ll be purchasing gifts for the adolescents of YoungLives and their child/children to make their holidays a little brighter. 

What’s YoungLives?

YoungLives​​ clubs are regular gatherings with parenting teenagers and mentors with the support of childcare workers and various community help. Clubs meet around the world offering fun, laughter, encouragement and an inspirational message. Other YoungLives​ activities may include Bible study, group outings and life skill instruction.

Does that sound like something you’d like to be involved in? We truly need all hands on deck for this one. Keep reading!

1) Based off the child’s wishlist, please purchase a NEW outfit for the child (seasonally appropriate, preferred) AND a toy. In addition, please purchase a gift for the young parent. Please, do not spend more than $40-$45 total for all items.

Suggested stores include: Target, Kohl’s, Carter’s, TJ Maxx, Ross.

Suggested gifts for the parent include $10 gift cards to McDonald’s, P. Terry’s, Target, etc.

**As a bonus, please consider purchasing a package of diapers for their diaper closet. This is completely optional.

We will be purchasing gifts for the parent and child this year. 

2) Wrap the three gifts individually and put the names on the gift tag. If you do not want to list yourself as the giver, you can simply say “From: Rotary” but please make sure that the child’s and parent’s name is clearly identified on the gift.

Note: ACRC will host a wrapping party during the meeting on Nov. 20th. Gift wrapping supplies will be provided. You can wrap your gifts at this time or wrap your gifts ahead of time. 

3) Drop off to Lindsey at the club meeting on Nov. 20th or by Wednesday, Nov. 26 at the latest. If you are unable to attend the meeting, please make arrangements to meet Lindsey outside of the meeting time.

4) Help us load gifts and drop off for the Young Lives Christmas Party on Tuesday, Dec. 2 . Meet at Lindsey’s place and help load gifts and drop off, or meet us at The For the City Center (500 E St. Johns Ave) at 5PM.

If you have signed up to shop, you’ll be emailed your adolescent parent’s and child’s wishlist by Nov. 14th.
